Downtown Fort Myers River District - Brand & Marketing Strategy

With more than 60 restaurants, bars, pubs, and microbreweries packed into Downtown Fort Myers’ River District, the challenge wasn’t a lack of energy—it was focus.

The City of Fort Myers issued an RFP seeking a partner who could bring clarity, cohesion, and personality to one of Southwest Florida’s most vibrant cultural corridors. PUNCH! Advisory was selected to create a comprehensive brand and marketing plan that would unify the district while honoring the individuality of its operators.

The One–Two PUNCH! Approach

From the outset, we deployed PUNCH!’s signature one–two punch methodology—pairing disciplined research with strategic creativity grounded in real-world behavior.

Punch One: Immersive Discovery

We engaged directly with leadership at the City of Fort Myers, along with restaurant, bar, pub, and microbrewery owners throughout the River District. To round out the perspective, we also connected with local foodies and community influencers—those who don’t just visit the district but help define its reputation.

These conversations revealed a shared pride in the district’s diversity, walkability, and authentic character—along with a desire to better tell that story to both locals and visitors.

Punch Two: Strategy with Personality

Layering those insights with current destination-marketing trends, we developed a brand platform designed to feel human, welcoming, and unmistakably Downtown Fort Myers. The result was a brand identity anchored by an approachable, joyful logo—one that quite literally makes you smile—supported by a strategy-laden marketing plan built for longevity, adaptability, and measurable impact.

Beyond the Brand

In addition to the brand and marketing plan, PUNCH! Advisory was retained to write a long-form narrative video script that brings the Culinary District’s energy to life. That core story will also be edited into five distinct micro-videos, allowing the City to extend the brand across digital, social, and experiential channels with consistency and flexibility.

The Result

What emerged was more than a logo or a plan—it was a shared story. One that celebrates the Culinary District as a collective experience while giving each operator room to shine. The work provided the City with a clear roadmap for promotion, engagement, and growth—rooted in community insight and delivered with strategic confidence.
